Students with 45-plus transferable hours should follow steps listed on the “More than 45 Hours” Checklist.

Special programs unique to this school:

Work/Life experience based college credits:

The Occupational Education (OCED) program at Texas State prepares nontraditional students for careers through high-quality academic, professional and technical programs. This program grants credit for experiential learning such as work/life experience; credit for non-collegiate instruction; and credit by exam.

NOTE: If you are pursuing or already earned Associates in Applied Sciences; not all of those credits can be used for “admissions” purposes. However the OCED program will review the skill based credits (labeled T&V) after admission to determine if they can be utilized toward the degree. Students with Applied Associates degrees usually need to apply as Freshman/Transfers due to the limited number of transferable academic courses.
