What is reverse transfer?
Reverse transfer is the process of awarding an associate degree to students who begin their education at ACC, transfer to another institution, and complete their associate degree requirements while working toward a bachelor's degree.
Am I eligible?
You must complete at least 25 percent of your associate degree plan at ACC to be eligible. Your associate degree then depends on the course credit you earn at your four-year institution. This is evaluated case-by-case.
How much does it cost?
There are few costs associated with reverse transfer. ACC does not charge you for the reverse transfer process. Your transfer institution may charge you a transcript request fee. You also may require additional courses to complete your associate degree plan.
Which associate degree am I eligible for?
If you're unsure which degree you are seeking or are eligible to earn through reverse transfer, contact any campus Advising Office.
Will these courses apply toward my associate degree plan?
Contact your instructional department or division office to review the courses in question and discuss ways to meet the degree requirements.
Can I take courses at my university, or must I return to ACC?
You do not have to return to ACC to complete courses if you can take them at your transfer school. However, those courses must be transferable and applicable to the your associate degree. Contact any campus Advising Office to be sure your credits will transfer back.
I completed my bachelor's degree. Can I still reverse transfer?
Yes. You are eligible to complete the reverse transfer process.
How do I inform ACC which degree I am seeking to earn?
Can I participate in ACC's commencement ceremony?
Am I guaranteed an associate degree if my university major is the same?
No. You will be awarded your ACC associate degree if your combined credits satisfy your degree requirements, and you meet all graduation requirements. Through reverse transfer, each associate degree is subject to the available degrees offered by the college as well as ACC in-residency requirements.
