November 21)
Test 5: covers Sections 4.9-5.5 (Friday, December 14)
Make-up tests: No make-up tests will be allowed; however, students who make below a 70 on any of the first 3 tests may raise their lowest score on the first 3 tests by scoring higher on the comprehensive Test #4 (maximum of 70). If your score is greater than or equal to 70 on the comprehensive Test #4, your lowest score will be replaced with a 70. If your score is less than 70 on the comprehensive Test #4, your lowest score will be replaced with your score on the comprehensive Test #4. You will be able to use this policy to replace only one test score (the lowest). There will be no make-up test available for Test #4 or Test #5.
If you miss one of the first 3 tests for any reason, your score on the missed test will be the score of your comprehensive Test #4 (maximum of 70) and that will count as the one test you replace. If you miss 2 of the first 3 tests, you will have a permanent 0 for one of them.
Homework: At the class meeting after Tests 1, 2 and 3, I will collect all homework assigned for the sections covered on the test. I will collect the homework assigned for the sections covered on Test #5 the last day of class. Your homework must be clearly labeled; state the section each problem is from on the top of each page and number each problem clearly. If I can’t find a problem I will not grade it and I will not change your grade even if you show it to me later. You must show all the work you did to get the correct answer. I will select only 10 problems at random to grade. Late homework will not be accepted. If you anticipate having problems the day homework is turned in, you may turn in your homework early.
Grading Scale: Test Average 90%
Homework Average 10%
A = 90-100 B = 80-89 C = 70-79 D = 60-69 F = below 60
Note: Please do not eat or drink anything in the classroom.
