Assessment is required for placement into ESOL classes.
Before taking ESOL classes, you must take an ESOL Assessment exam.
If you are an International Student, contact ACC's Admissions & Records International Student Office at the Riverside Campus, Building G, Room 8105, (512) 223-6247, before testing.
The ESOL assessment is the only way a student can be placed in ESOL classes at Austin Community College. The test will also show if a student does NOT need any ESOL classes and can be placed in college-level courses. Three different skill areas (reading, writing, and listening/speaking) are evaluated in the three-hour testing session and oral interview.
-
Testing is by appointment only.
-
You must bring a photo ID, and your social security number or ID number from the ACC's Admission & Records International Student Office.
Please call the campus of your choice for testing schedule information.
Important: See the ESOL Assessment page for official, up-to-date information.
For questions and answers about ESOL Assessment, see the Frequently Asked Questions page or contact ESOL Assessor Scott Svec
