New Faculty / Staff Information
Welcome to the ESOL Department at ACC!
Below are some resources to get you started:
- Visit the ACC New Employee Orientation sties.
- Get an email account: call 223-4357 (the Help Desk) to request an ACC email account. You will be given a username and password. The domain is austincc.edu.
You can check your email remotely by using Webmail.
Important: In order to avoid having your mailbox fill up, you must delete email from the server on a regular basis. You can do this through your email client (such as Outlook). Set your email preferences on the computer you regularly to remove mail from server after downloading. (In Outlook Express, this is under Edit > Accounts > Advanced.) To learn how to set your email client to delete mail from server, please contact the Help Desk at 223-4357.
- Learn Datatel by taking a workshop through Professional Development.
With Datatel (ACC's Information Management system), you can check your class rosters, check prerequisites, enter grades, and more.
First, you must take training in Datatel. Log in the the workshops site and search available workshops for "Datatel." You will want to sign up for the course called Datatel UI. It is offered online. After you have completed the training, your supervisor will request a Datatel account for you.
Datatel has two interfaces: Datatel UI (user interface) and ACC Online Services. You will need to be familiar with both interfaces in order to check prerequisites and class rosters and to enter grades for your students. ACC Online Services provides FAQ's on the log in page. Please refer to the documentation for further help.
- Get help with email, telephone services, ACCeTime, Datatel and ACC Online Services, and more.
- Get a photo ACC ID Card at Highland Business Center.
- Find payroll information and dates of pay.
- Refer to the Faculty Handbook for information about teaching at ACC.
- Use ACCeStaffing (Adjunct Faculty) for selecting class preferences and ACCeTime (full time faculty) for submitting monthly timesheets. Both of these sites include documentation as well as calendars with important dates.
- Learn about Professional Development (training opportunities, faculty evaluation, and more).
- Use the Faculty Support pages to learn about the ACC Bookstore, campus services (duplication, computer centers, campus mangers), information technology, and essential employee information. Click on the links to expand the lists.
- Find forms that you might need.
- Learn about ACC's voicemail system.
- Got a question? Call 223-HELP (223-4357), the ACC Help Desk or email the Help Desk.
