Boyd Vance Scholarship for Dance and Drama

The Boyd Vance Scholarship is named in honor of the founder and director of ProArts Collective. One of Austin’s most acclaimed musical theater performers, Boyd Vance was also highly regarded for nurturing young performers and promoting African–American arts in Central Texas. ACC and ProArts Collective are pleased to offer this scholarship to continue Mr. Vance’s mission of developing the talents of young African–American performers.

Purpose: To assist African-American students enrolling in the ACC Dance or Drama program.

Amount: $1,000 for tuition, fees, and books.

Dance and Drama Program Scholarship

 

Purpose:

To assist students enrolled in the ACC Dance or Drama program.

Criteria:

To apply, complete the Dance & Drama Scholarship application here and return it, with all required attachments, to Mary  Rincon Dance & Drama Department, Rio Grande Campus, 1212 Rio Grande, Austin, TX 78701

Terms of Scholarship:

Amount of scholarship varies each academic year. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of scholastic merit, artistic promise, and need for financial assistance. Recipient chosen by Dance and Drama Department faculty. Successfully complete a minimum of 6-9 hours for drama or 4-6 hours for dance with a 3.0 GPA. Scholarship applies to tuition, fees, and books. Recipients must sign an agreement stating specific involvement with the Dance and Drama Department for at least one semester. This involvement may be through performance in technical production or in management and administration.

Application Deadline: May 1 for Fall/ December 5 for Spring
