Orientation Activities for the first week of class

(applies only to online classes)

Blackboard course site will be available to students three days before the start of the term

1.  Attend your class orientation session.  Failure to attend will result in being dropped from this class. Please note orientation is held BEFORE the term officially starts.

SPCH 1311 meets Saturday, February 13 at 11 a.m. SPCH 1315 meets Saturday, February 13 at 8 a.m. Both sessions are at Round Rock Higher Education Center, room 203.

2.  Purchase the appropriate textbook for your class.  You must have the one that matches the photo and description on the website. Older versions may work, but remember they cannot be sold back to the bookstores, and page numbers or chapters may not correlate. You do NOT need any additional course packet materials, so used books without that are fine.

3.  Prepare your "Remember my name" speech for class.  Speech assignment also will be found on Blackboard. This is a fun assignment that will be given about halfway through the session.

4.  Make sure you can log in to your ACC email address. This will be the only means of communication for this course, and you will need to check it regularly.

5.  Print a copy of your course syllabus and bring it to class with you. You may print the web version or the one located in Blackboard.

6.  Create your homepage. This will help us learn more about each other and recognize each other in class.
