Prepare Now For Your Four-Year Degree

If you plan to attend a four-year college or university, you should begin immediately to work with an ACC advisor or counselor to prepare for transferring your college credits. More than a third of ACC’s students transfer to four-year colleges and universities, and ACC offers a variety of resources to make transferring easy. You also should check with the four-year college or university you plan to attend to be sure the college credits you earn will transfer appropriately. Transfer services

So why stay at ACC?
You can study at Austin Community College and bank the difference! ACC offers a college education that is high quality, accredited, and transferable – at a fraction of the cost of other higher education institutions!

Make your transfer application stand out
Getting into the college of your choice has become highly competitive, but ACC provides opportunities for transfer students to add prestige to their college application. Highlight your academic strengths by participating in ACC’s Honors program and the Phi Theta Kappa honor society. Or emphasize your community involvement by registering for service learning classes or participating in student life activities that build leadership skills.

A college degree is an option
Unlike four-year universities, ACC is accredited to award a two-year associate degree. That means completing your core curriculum at ACC gives you the option of adding a few additional courses in order to earn an associate degree before you transfer.

Scholarships for transfer students
You can help further reduce the cost of your college education by taking advantage of the many scholarships available exclusively to transfer students. Check with the four-year school you plan to attend for scholarships available to you, or check with ACC’s Financial Aid Office for recommended scholarship search websites.
