Recycling
spacer Austin Community College recycling procedures:
  • Large recycling containers are located throughout the buildings (duplication centers, breakrooms, and student lounges). Smaller, blue, deskside recycling bins are provided for all faculty/staff offices, these blue deskside bins are for PAPER ONLY.

  • Custodial staff collects the contents and deposits to larger exterior facility containers. The recyclable materials are then collected by a contracted company and transported to a recycling center.

  • The Facilites & Operations department is responsible for oversight and coordination of the recycling program. Please contact via e-mail dcaraway@austincc.edu , should you have any questions.
    Recyclable Items:
    • Paper: newspapers, magazines, catalogs, junk mail & office paper

    • Aluminum, steel, and tin cans

    • Plastic bottles (#1 and #2) -- no other shaped plastic containers than bottles*

    • Corrugated cardboard

Please place these items in the appropriate recycling bin. Paper is to be kept separate from aluminum cans and plastic bottles.

Rinse your cans and plastic bottles and put the lids in the garbage. Aluminum cans and plastic bottles are to be kept separate from paper. Please place these rinsed items in the appropriate recycling bin.

You can recycle corrugated cardboard boxes by writing "RECYCLE" on them and placing next to a recycling bin.
