Google Apps at ACC is the name of ACC's installation of Google Apps for Education, a suite of online software applications that Google offers to educational institutions and non-profit organizations. The package includes Gmail (Google's email program), Web-based word processing and spreadsheet programs, sharable calendars, chat, and more.
- What will my ACCmail email address be?
- To discover your ACCmail address, please log in to ACC Online Services. From the Student Menu, click on ACCmail. Here you will find your ACCmail user name, your initial password and a link to activate your new ACCmail account.
- Do I have to use my ACCmail email address?
- All ACC faculty and staff are instructed to communicate with you using your ACCmail account. Actively enrolled students are required to use their ACCmail account while communicating with ACC instructors and ACC staff. ACC will send important information to you at this account. Also, ACC will notify you of any college related emergencies using this account.
If you don't wish to use the, ACCmail powered by Google, web client to read your email, you can configure other email clients to do so. Please see Can I use other email programs to access my ACCmail email? - Can I use a different email address instead of my accmail address?

- I can’t remember my ACCmail password
- Make sure you are typing in your username correctly, in lowercase
- Make sure you are typing your password exactly as you created it (case sensitive)
- Go to ACCmail Password Reset to reset your password. You will be required to provide your ACCeID and password.
- Don’t know your ACCeID and password? Your password will be easy to change through the ACCeID Manager.

- Who can I email using my ACCmail address?
- There are no restrictions to whom you can send email.
- Can I use other email programs to access my ACCmail email?
- Yes. You can access your ACCmail account using POP, IMAP, and mobile email programs. See the links below for more information. NOTE: Be sure to use your full email address (username@g.austincc.edu) and use your ACCmail password when setting up the POP or IMAP configuration. You'll need to use your ACCmail password to use POP or IMAP. If you have not already set your ACCmail password, you can do so here. You will have to authenticate yourself by using your ACCeID and password first. Then you will be able to set or change your ACCmail password.
- How long do I get to keep my ACCmail email address?
- Your ACCmail account is yours to keep for as long as you want it.
- Is there a limit to the amount of recipients I can send to or the amount of messages I can send in one day?
- In an effort to fight spam and prevent abuse, Google will temporarily disable your account if:
- You send a message to more than 2000 recipients.
NOTE: If you use a POP or IMAP client (Microsoft Outlook or Apple Mail, e.g.), you may only send a message to 100 people at a time. - You send a large number of undeliverable messages

- What is the maximum message size I can send?
- You can send and receive messages up to 20 megabytes (MB) in size, including attachments. Incoming messages over 20 MB will be returned to the sender without being delivered to you.
- I'm a student but also a staff member. Do I get an ACCmail email address?
- Yes. All actively enrolled students will receive an ACCmail email account.

- How come my Google Apps at ACC account does not have the same applications as my personal Gmail account?
- Your Google Apps at ACC account is part of a software suite called Google Apps for Education, which Google offers to educational institutions and non-profit organizations. Google decides which services to include in the Google Apps for Education software suite.
- What if I want to use a Google program that is not offered through Google Apps at ACC?
- If you wish to use a Google program that is not included in Google Apps at ACC, you can use a personal Gmail account. If you do not have a personal Gmail account, You can sign up for one at www.google.com.
- How do I change my password?
- The first time you log in, you will be required to change your password.
At any point after, to change your ACCmail password, please go to the reset ACCmail page. - Which browsers can I use with Google Apps at ACC?
- Google recommends that you use Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox 2 in order to access the latest Google features. For more information on the web browsers that Google supports, see the Google website.
Note: Using Safari to access your Google Apps at ACC account will create minor issues. For example, when you log into your ACCmail account, you won't see the Quick Contacts (chat) box in the left sidebar. If you have a Mac, using the latest version of Firefox will allow you to see the Quick Contacts box in the left sidebar of Google Apps Gmail pages. This display issue only affects Google Apps for Education accounts and not standard Gmail accounts. Google releases features for its commercial Gmail system before it releases features for Google Apps for Education. Google does not provide a list of the different features available in standard accounts and Google Apps for Education. - Will Google sell my personal information?
- Google does not have the personal information of users of Google Apps for Education, only a username and password for that user.

- How do I share documents with students or others who have Google Apps at ACC accounts?
- You can share documents with anyone who has an ACCmail or Gmail account by listing the person’s ACCmail or Gmail address in the Share This Document screen. If you enter an email address of someone without a ACCmail or Gmail account in the Share This Document screen, that person will receive an invitation to create a Gmail account.
