Agenda Item:            Chair's Report

Discussion:   

 

1. We were able to increase our number of MSTA's to 20 and this year all were filled. In coming years, evaluation criteria will be applied if the number of applicants exceed the number of positions.
2. Most faculty members have returned their signed evaluations to the Dean.
3. Dates for next year's meetings will be forthcoming.

Discussion:    One interview was held on Friday and 5 more will be held on April 25.

Agenda Item: Student Assessment Committee Report

Discussion:    The committee is working on the questions for next year's assessment and would appreciate any put from all faculty.

Agenda Item: Faculty Development Committee Report

Presenter:      Jeff Millstone

Discussion:    Jeff thanked our colleague, Ron Fletcher, for his presentation on Home Rule Cities in Texas. He welcomed suggestions on future programs which emphasize improved teaching. The committee is planning another session before the end of the academic year.

Agenda Item: Curriculum Committee

Presenter:      Paz Pena

Discussion:    The committee approved a proposed hybrid course by Karry Evans as part of the NCAT proposal. The committee will work this summer to redo our learning outcomes.

Decision/Follow-Up items: All faculty will be notified when the meeting will be held to work on revising the learning outcomes.

Agenda Item: Distance Learning Orientation Subcommittee

Discussion:    Frank passed out copies of suggested wording for the on-line PCM self-assessment instrument on-line which is now available for use by individual PCM faculty members on their websites. Learning Style Self_Assessment

Discussion:    The committee is working on the outline for the Blackboard page. Cecile outlined their thinking thus far.
