Ron and Jonathan agreed to update the Task Force during the Spring ‘97 semester as to how students are handling the course.

Remember all adjunct faculty are invited to attend and participate fully in Task Force meetings, except for voting rights.

Current committee assignments:

Planning & Budget: start preparing a technology plan for Government collegewide.

Curriculum, Instruction, & Assessment: Create course assessment mechanism.

Student Affairs: Identify Government majors and notify them of future GOV 2633 offerings as they develop.

4. Assessment. Stefan Haag presented a proposal for our Unit Level Institutional Effectiveness Program. After a discussion of last year’s plan, procedures, and results, it was decided that a new approach was needed. With a few modifications, Stefan’s proposal was approved and submitted to Frank Friedman’s office. A copy of the new plan is attached.

5. Update on Spring ‘98 Course Schedule. Changes recommended by Task Force have been incorporated into the Spring ‘98 schedule. The next step is review of the schedule by the Provosts. The chair will attempt to keep up with the process and notify faculty if any substantial changes occur in the schedule. Rex Peebles was asked about progress in the schedule and how adjunct faculty would be staffed for the Spring semester. His response was that the schedule changes were being processed and that no decision has yet been made on how to staff adjunct faculty for the Spring, but he would keep us abreast of decisions.

Next Scheduled Meeting: Friday, October 10, 1:30pm, DAO.

Send agenda items to the Chair at Northridge.
