Women In Green Jobs: Stacy Dukes-Rhone - Executive Director, BiGAustin
Stacy Dukes-Rhone holds a B.S. in Economics, from the University of North Texas and an M.S. in Civil Engineering, from U.T. - Austin. She was the first African American and Female - to be hired in the Highway Design/Construction Division, of the TX Department of Transportation (TxDOT). While at TxDOT, she was instrumental in recruiting small enterprises to do business with the agency. After working at the Texas Commission for Environmental Quality (TNRCC), she decided to move into private Consulting (20+ years). She owns three small businesses. Ms. Dukes-Rhone has worked with schools, non-profits, government agencies, and private organizations, also acting as advisor to the ACC-CE "Women in Green Jobs" campaign. Her special interests include: small business management, project finance, construction/resource management, and "disadvantaged business" enterprise development (with a special focus on women & minority-owned business skills). BigAUSTIN is the only SBA-approved loan provider for Women - in Central Texas. www.bigaustin.org
