The Student Government Association serves as the voice of the student body, functioning as a crucial link between students and the college administration.

Student Life

The Office of Student Life provides quality services, programs,activities, and opportunities for student growth and enrichment outside the classroom. Upcoming event information as well as information and applications for each program can be found online at the Student Life website.

• Campus Activities: Includes Campus Activity Funding Board (CAB), annual events, activities, volunteering, and student recognition. Check the SL website for upcoming events .
• Campus Governance: Students work with ACC administration through Student Government Association and shared governance committees. Select leadership positions receive a stipend every semester.
• Clubs and Organizations: Join a variety of cultural, academic, vocational, and social clubs on campus, or start your own.
• Diversity Outreach: Promotes awareness and appreciation of self and others through programs, conferences, film series, and much more.
• Intramural Sports and Recreation: Provides students with sports and other recreational activities that develop leaders and encourage good sportsmanship.
• Leadership: Develops the next generation of student leaders through a structured track of workshops,conferences, and other events.
• Orientation: Interactive program designed to show new ACC students how to navigate ACC resources and college life.
• Student Media: Includes Accent newspaper, Life4U magazine, Student Life media and marketing.

Student Newspaper – Accent

Accent is the award-winning student newspaper for Austin Community College District. The newspaper’s goal is to provide an ethical, socially responsible, independent student press while providing opportunities for students to learn and gain practical experience in journalism, photography, desktop publishing, electronic media, and related areas.
