Students work in small groups to learn about electrical circuits. During this exercise they measure the resistance between the compressor terminals. From the resistance measurements they can determine the CSR (common start and run) windings.
During other exercises they learn how to properly use the gauge-manifold set, and correctly evacuate and charge refrigerant.
Some of the units are deliberately programmed with various faults (electrical, air flow and refrigerant) so that students gain experience in all aspects of air conditioning systems.
