A student reviews instructions on how to use the gas heat trainer before working on the equipment...

...and compares the results with other students

Students work on a gas furnace control system. They must find and fix the fault, then test for proper operation
After removing the thermostat cover...

...students find a loose wire.
After fixing it, they test the system. They light the pilot...
Students observe the result of their repairs (success!)
Students work on various ignition systems on the furnace board.

A student uses digital volt ohmmeter to test components

Students then start inspecting the inside air handlers.
The inside units are programmed with a variety of faults that
the students must diagnose.

For electrical faults they must review the schematic for that unit and then test the unit. Another unit has a rusted burner which the students must remove, clean, install and test to verify it works after they installed it.

Students often discuss their findings with each other...
...and must draw the schematics of the systems they investigate.
