HART 2442 - Commercial Refrigeration

Students learn the theory and practical application in the maintenance of commercial refrigeration; high, medium, and low temperature applications and ice machines.

Instructors introduce students to replacement refrigerant alternatives and the retro-fit replacement of a refrigerant in a beverage cooler.

The students also work on various pieces of commercial equipment such as

  • beverage cooler
  • commercial freezer/cooler combination systems
  • ice merchandiser and produce cases
  • ice cream freezer
  • walk-in cooler/freezer
  • ice machines

This course is generally offered in the fall semester and is offered more frequently when it is in the best interests of the students nearing graduation.

Prerequisite: HART 2431 Advanced Electricity for HVAC
