| About: Provides a charter high school designed for youth considered at-risk of dropping out, or who have already dropped out from the AISD and surrounding districts. Services for students include two types of diploma programs, career center to assist in finding a job and applying for financial aid for college, couseling services, health services, free bus passes, and more. They offer several Americorps programs where students can get paid to finish their high school education while learning trade skills working half-day. Department of Education vouchers to pay for post-secondary education are available for students who are accepted into the Americorps program and complete at least a 6 month commitment. Eligibility Requirements: Youth ages 16-21. Intake Procedure: Call or walk in to register; orientations are held Mondays 5:15-6:30pm at the South Campus located at 1901 E. About: Care Coordination involves families from identified AISD schools in the wraparound approach to service delivery.Wraparound is a strengths-based model of social service delivery that offers the entire family support to meet their goals. A Child and Family Team is created by the parent/primary caregiver and the Care Coordinator, which typically includes a school representative, service providers, family members, a neighbor or friend, and others. This team meets regularly to develop and implement a Plan Of Care, which defines the family's needs, strengths, goals, and planned interventions. The team can use a network of service providers, including therapists, mentors, parent coaches, case managers, and others to assist the family.

About: The GED and JobSkills Training Program is designed to assist youth with GED preparation, academic tutoring, and critical life skills/ job skills training. The target population of the GED, Life Skills, and Literacy Program are youth ages 16 to 26 who have special life circumstances, such as being homeless, pregnant, parenting, or involved in the juvenile justice system who have dropped out of school. The Program is self-paced and offered on an "open entry/open exit" basis, and most students remain in the Program for about four months. Classes are offered Monday through Thursday in three sessions: 9:00 a.m. to noon, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 5p.m. to 8p.m. A collaborationwith Austin Community College offers GED students the ability to successfully transfer to college. Classroom instruction incorporates self-paced, computerized instruction, small group learning exercises, lectures, videos, and other experiential learning activities. Daily lesson plans are designed to be flexible enough to address the needs and levels of all students, ranging from 4th to 12th grade levels.
