General Schedule and Attendance

College credit EMT-Basic classes are listed in the college credit course schedule as EMSP 1501 (lecture and lab) and EMSP 1160 (clinicals). You must register for both classes and for the same section number for each class (for example EMSP 1501-section 002, and EMSP 1160-section 002).

In the fall and spring semesters, the EMT-Basic classes meet from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Cypress Creek campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Eastview campus on Mondays and Wednesdays. In the summer semester classes at both campuses meet from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. You will need to check the ACC course schedule to confirm the class offering days and times for the semester you are selecting. Students must attend the section in which they are registered.

The EMT-Basic courses also require sixty-four (64) out of classroom clinical hours (EMSP 1160) and two 8-hour extrication classes which are usually held on Saturdays. When you enroll in the EMT-Basic clinical course (EMSP 1160 and EMSP 1060), the dates/times will be listed as TBA or HOSP in the course schedule. Clinical assignments are picked by the students from available dates/times during an in-class sign-up session which usually occurs during one of the first Saturdays after class starts.

All students must attend all assigned clinicals in order to complete the state mandated training requirements for certification. The date for the extrication course will be on the syllabus given out the first day of class.

ACC EMS Professions has a strict rule that students may not miss more than 10% of the total class time for any reason.
