Medical Coding

Health Information Technologists organize and evaluate patient records for completeness and accuracy. Graduates are eligible for careers in hospitals, clinics, physicians’ offices, health maintenance organizations, nursing homes, and insurance companies.

  • Beginning Fall 2012, most HITT Courses are only offered once a year to ensure students have access to adequate faculty and clinical resources. Failure to register during the designated semester will delay your progression through the program.

  • Many courses have prerequisites and students will not be allowed to register in these courses without having the completed the prerequisites.

  • It is highly recommended that you meet with Ms. Mercado to review your degree plan and ask questions (email or call) nmercado@austincc.edu 223- 5928.
