To be eligible to submit an application for the MLT program, students must:
- Complete MLT Information Session
- Meet with MLT faculty advisor
- Complete MLAB 1101
- Complete CHEM 1305/1105 or CHEM 1311/1111
Prerequisite College Credit Courses – Semesters 1 & 2

||Introduction to Speech Communications (Communication for the Health Care Professional preferred)

ALL of the above prerequisite courses MUST be completed with a grade of "C" or better.
Students must successfully complete the following college credit courses before starting the Semester 3 of the MLT degree plan. Substitution information for MLT programs admission purposes only.

Note: Some alternate courses will require evaluation for equivalency by the ACC Admissions Office. All applicants seeking to utilize transfer coursework for the MLT degree plan will have this evaluated during the advising session with the MLT faculty.
Transfer of MLT course credit from other insitutions
Previous MLT course work satisfactorily completed, with a grade of "C" or higher, at another regionally accredited institution of higher education, will be evaluated for transfer and may be applied toward completion of a MLT Program at Austin Community College. Course(s) must have been completed no more than 1 year prior to acceptance to the ACC MLT Program. The MLT Department Chair will review official transcripts and the MLT course descriptions and syllabi to determine the suitability of the previous courses completed. Applicants/students may receive credit for coursework or a challenge exam may be required.
The student must submit a letter of withdrawal in good standing from the previous Program Director along with all other documents required in the Application Process by the application deadline.
