Health Sciences Application Process

Admission to Austin Community College does not guarantee admission to a Health Sciences program. ALL Health Sciences program applicants must:

1. Enroll in ACC and begin taking relevant program prerequisites
2. Follow the admission steps for the Health Sciences program you prefer.
3. Collect the required documentation and/or complete all immunizations before applying for program admission.
4. Submit your program application (a criminal background check may be required)

Step 1

Apply to ACC.

Step 2
Fulfill all immunization requirements (some immunizations can take six months to complete).

Step 3
Complete an Information Session. Print and submit the completion form and the Essentials Functions form with your application.

Step 4
Meet with MLT faculty advisor, Keri Brophy Martinez at 512-223-5877.

Step 5

Finish prerequisite courses by the February 1 deadline to apply for Medical Laboratory Technology program admission. You must earn a C or better in the prerequisite classes, which are listed below:

• CHEM 1305 and 1105 or CHEM 1311 and 1111

Step 6
Maintain an overall grade point average of at least a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Step 7
Print and fill out a Medical Laboratory Technology program application. Submit your program application and immunization form to the Health Sciences Information and Advising Office no later than 5 p.m. February 1st

A current Health Data/Physical Exam Form and TB skin test will be required prior to beginning the program.
