Admission to the college does not guarantee admission to the Medical Laboratory Technology program. In order to be eligible for admission into the program, the applicant must: complete and submit an application for the MLT program, meet all requirements for admission to ACC, complete program prerequisites, complete the MLT information session, and meet with a MLT faculty advisor.
The courses in the first two semesters must be completed before semester 3 of the MLT degree plan. In addition, the student must be enrolled in or have completed the following:
- NAACLS approved phlebotomy program, or
- hold certification as a phlebotomy technician, or
- document eligibility to test for national certification in phlebotomy.
If the phlebotomy course is taken through ACC, a separate Phlebotomy application must be submitted.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate good eye-hand coordination, finger dexterity, visual acuity, communication skills, and physical and emotional health for admission. Admission is non-discriminatory in regard to race, creed, sex, age, handicap or national origin.
