Admission to the college does not guarantee admission to the Medical Laboratory Technology program. In order to be eligible for admission into the program, the applicant must: complete and submit an application for the MLT program, meet all requirements for admission to ACC, complete program prerequisites, complete the MLT informatoin session, and meet with a MLT faculty advisor.
The courses in the first two semesters must be completed before starting the Medical Laboratory Courses. In addition, the student must be enrolled in or have completed the following:
- NAACLS approved phlebotomy program, or
- hold certification as a phlebotomy technician, or
- document eligibility to test for national certification.
If the phlebotomy course is taken through ACC, a separate application must be submitted.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate good eye-hand coordination, finger dexterity, visual acuity, communication skills, and physical and emotional health for admission. Admission is non-discriminatory in regard to race, creed, sex, age, handicap or national origin.
