Physical Therapist Assistant
Welcome to the Physical Therapist Assistant Department

The Physical Therapist Assistant is an important member of the dynamic profession of physical therapy. Physical therapist assistants work under the direction and supervision of the Physical Therapist to rehabilitate people from injury or disease by improving mobility, relieving pain, and preventing further injury. The Physical Therapist Assistant participates as a member of the healthcare team to make it possible for patients to participate in life to its fullest.

Our program is nationally accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education of the American Physical Therapy Association (1111 N. Fairfax St., Alexandria, VA 22314-1488; 703.684.2782; www.apta.org). The program received re-accreditation in April 2009.

Department Announcements
ATTENTION: PTHA 1409 for the Summer semester 2012 only will not require granted petitions. It will be first come, first serve during your registration period. Current and Former Student registrations begins on April 2, 2012. Granted petitions for Spring 2012 have been granted.
