The Diagnostic Medical Imaging Radiology Program prepares qualified individuals for a career as a radiologic technologist, R.T(R). Radiographers safely administer low levels of ionizing radiation to obtain diagnostic images. Individuals must be detail-oriented, precise and analytical, and understand spatial relationships. Extensive knowledge of patient care, anatomy & physiology, image production, radiation protection and procedures is required. Graduates are eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification exam. Employment opportunities include hospitals, imaging centers, physician offices and clinics. After certification, a radiographer may pursue other career opportunities in advanced imaging modalities offered at ACC.
