RNSG 2213 - Mental Health Nursing

Orientation:

• Date: Tuesday,  January 18, 2011
• Time and Place: 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 pm,  RRC 3337.00
• What to bring:
  • 1) Syllabi for RNSG 2213 and 2160. (Print the Syllabi from Blackboard);
  • 2) Copy of Objectives for Lab Units 1a and 1b (Print from Blackboard “Labs”);
  • 3) Lab Unit 2 Assessment document  
  • 3) Copy of the course calendar.
  • 4) Psychiatric Nursing textbook  (Keltner, 5th edition) or Preferred: Keltner, 6th edition

Calendar – Spring 2011 (Draft)             

                                        

Theory Seminar:

• When: Tuesdays from 12:30-3:30 or as listed on calendar
• Refer to the final calendar for specifics.
• Where: RRC Room 3337.00

Tests:

• Review sessions will be offered prior to each unit exam and the final exam
• Tests will be given in the RRC nursing computer lab. (3 unit exams on Tuesdays and one final exam on Tuesday, 5/10/11)
• See calendar for specific dates and times for exams. 

Labs:

• When/Where: Incorporated in Seminar. TBA
• Note: Lab Attendance is MANDATORY.  

RNSG 2160 - Mental Health Clinical

• Where: Austin State Hospital OR Seton Shoal Creek Hospital
• Orientation for Group A: Thursday, January 20, 2011, 8:00am-3:00pm  Location TBA
• Times and Dates:  Clinical days are  Wed/Thurs OR Thurs/Fri.  Final schedules TBA
• 3 rotations (A, B, or C), 5 weeks each rotation

Semester Requirements:

• Prior to attending clinical, students must provide documentation of:
• Clinical Clearance Ticket
• Course evaluation confirmation sheet prior to final.
