Tests:

• Tests will be given in the nursing computer lab.

Dosage Calculation Test:

• The Dosage Computation Test will be on Monday, August 22

Labs:

• Lab attendance is MANDATORY. See calendar for dates.

Mastery Skills Checkoff

• When: Wednesday, August 24, 2011 from 0800 until 12noon.
• Where: Eastview Nursing Skills Lab for all students
• This will be a comprehensive mastery skills check-off over previously learned skills: injections, urinary catheterization, IVs, trach care & suctioning
• You will be given a patient situation and will be required to complete several skills satisfactorily.
• The Eastview skills labs will be open the week before the semester begins for practice.
• You must pass the mastery skills test satisfactorily or you may be withdrawn from the course.

RNSG 2161 Clinical

Clinical focus is in a medical-surgical area

• The rotation is for 5 weeks.

Where & When:

• Central Texas Medical Center, San Marcos, Thurs 12 hr shift & some Fridays
• North Austin Medical Center, Fri evenings, Sat days
• St. David’s Hospital (Main), Sat 12 hrs
• South Austin Hospital, Weds 12 hr shift & some Thurs
