RNSG 2402 - Theory

Calendar: Summer 2011

Class (or Seminars):

Dosage Calculation Test:

  • You will be required to take a dosage calculation during the first week of the semester.
  • You must be able to successfully pass this exam to give medications in clinical.

RNSG 2263 - Clinical Wednesday, Thursday or Friday --various times. Clinical rotations will be posted in Bb course RNSG 2402.

Mastery Skills Checkoff:

  • When: Wednesday, May 25, times TBA.
  • Where: Eastview Nursing Skills Lab for all students.
  • This will be a comprehensive mastery skills check-off over previously learned skills: injections, urinary catheterization, IVs, trach care & suctioning.
  • You will be given a patient situation and will be required to complete several skills satisfactorily.
  • The Eastview and CEC skills labs will be open the week before the semester begins for practice.
  • You must pass the mastery skills test satisfactorily or you may be withdrawn from the course.

Pedi: 4 weeks

Location: Dell Children’s Hospital

  • You must complete the COMPASS TRAINING prior to the first day of pediatric rotation.

OB: Locations: as noted on the clinical schedule;3 or 4 weeks as noted on rotation schedule.

Medical-Surgical: 2 weeks.

Textbooks: In addition to all your current textbooks, you will need the following:

    • Brief remediation meeting with your assigned, Mobility instructor, for EVC students: Tuesday, July 5th, 2011 assigned between 9am-11am, meet in office 8313
    • Exit HESI (Second attempt, if required): Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011, 1300-1700 in EVC Computer Lab, 8307 and FBG Computer Lab
    • Completion of Jurisprudence Preparation Module and/or Jurisprudence Exam due by: Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011

  • Important Information:
    • Pay $41.00 testing fee for HESI Exam at Campus Cashier's Office
    • Print HESI Exit Exam Page and bring with you to Cashier's Office
    • Bring your receipt with you to HESI exam
    • There are no seminars or labs linked to this course

  • Recommendations for success:
