The associate of applied science degree programs begin during the summer semester. Each program of study includes 72 credit hours (six semesters) of classroom instruction, college laboratory experience, and clinical experience. Sonography courses must be taken sequentially, and students attend on a full-time basis.
Austin Community College offers two AAS degree plan programs of study in Sonography:

Diagnostic Medical Sonography
