New Admission Criteria for students admitted Fall 2017 or after:

  • 6 prerequisites required including A&P I and II
  • Minimum GPA 2.7
  • TEAS Test

To apply to the Surgical Technology Program, please create an account with Castle Branch (formerly Certified Profile). You will need to use code UL64im and upload your immunizations. then when you are ready to upload your documents, you will use code UL83im. Once all your documents and immunizations have been cleared (green checks), turn in your application.

Surgical technologists assist operating-room teams before, during, and after surgeries, along with other responsibilities. Graduates are eligible for work in hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, or research facilities.

Our program is accredited through the Accreditation Review Committee-Surgical Technology (6 W. Dry Creek Cir., Suite 210, Littleton, CO 80120; www.arcst.org) and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs ( 25400 U.S. Highway 19 North, Suite 158, Clearwater, FL 33763; 1-727-210-2350. ; www.caahep.org).

Outcomes Assessment Exam (OAE) pass-rate for 2014-2015 was 92%.

Department Announcements
All students that have not been accepted into an ACC Health Sciences program should declare Associate of Science in Pre-Health Sciences for their major. Once accepted into a program, the students major will be updated.

All students wanting to apply to a Health Science Program should start their application by uploading their immunization record to Castle Branch (formerly Certified Profile). Use Package Code UL64im. Immunizations and other documentation will be required prior to applications being accepted at the Eastview and Round Rock Campuses. For assistance with this new process, please call Health Sciences at 512-223-5700.
