How do I make sure my computer is Auto-Protected from viruses? |
|
To determine if you have Symantec Auto-Protect running, double-click on the shield in the bottom
right corner of your computer screen. The image of the shield is shown below.
Make sure the box is checked next to "Enable Auto-Protect (Enabled)". As shown in the image below.
If you do not have a shield in the bottom right corner of your screen you need to install
Symantec Anti Virus Corporate Version 10. (See our
software install page).
If Symantec detects a virus and places it in quarantine, you can delete it from "Quarantine".
- To do this, click View | Quarantine. Select the entries you want to clear. Click the Delete button (red X).
Click Start Delete.
Please note that if Symantec detects a virus it does not mean that your computer is infected
with the virus. If you keep your virus definitions up to date, it should auto detect any
virus you are exposed to and prevent your computer from being infected.
