Out of Office Message Request Form
The Out of Office Message is an automated reply feature, which
will send a message to anyone that emails you, letting them know
that you are out of the office, you may customize the message and
the subject header accordingly. Microsoft Outlook has a built in Out of Office feature.
How to use the Out of Office Assistant in Outlook
This feature replies to spam mail,
thus telling the spammer that they have found a valid email address. You should expect to get spam after using this
feature. Your mail box may become full thus preventing valid emails from being delivered. You must decide for yourself
whether the usefulness of an out of office message outweighs the additional spam it will attract.
If the entire college is closed (such as for winter break)
we discourage the use of an out of office message on individual email accounts. Individual request will be processed on a
first in, first out basis. Due to volume some requests may not be completed by the end of the last business
day before the break. |
