e muet - not sounded in a syllable

In spoken French, given certain environments, an 'e' is omitted from the syllable. This kind of 'e' is called e muet.  Because this 'e' is unaccented, it drops out of the word.  *You pronounce the first 'e' in j'achète because it is accented. The future tense of -er verbs is affected by 'e muet'.
