Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
...a training module for ACC students, staff and faculty.

Purpose:  The federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is designed to ensure that all protected health information (PHI) be kept private and secure by all persons who handle, or have access to, that information.   Therefore, all ACC students, faculty and staff that come in contact with PHI as part of their educational or work responsibilities must complete this online training module.  Health sciences (credit & Continuing Education) faculty, staff and students are expected to complete the module annually.  All other ACC employees required to complete the training will do so once or upon hire.  All required ACC students, faculty and staff will be provided with updates as necessary.

Instructions:  To successfully complete this training module, all 3 of the following steps must be completed:

1)       Review the HIPAA PowerPoint presentation provided within this site;

2)       Complete the automated Post-Test, and submit the Post-Test electronically (email is sent to program or supervisor);

3)       Download, print and sign the “ACC Combined Confidentiality Form” and give to your program faculty (students) or supervisor (faculty/staff).
