Current Student Advising

current studentDepartmental advising is a required process for students in the Hospitality, Meeting & Event Planning, and Travel & Tourism programs. Department staff will strategically approve you for classes based on your progression and status in the program. A face to face appointment is mandatory for first time students.

The advising process is a critical step in ensuring enough seats are available to students within our programs; therefore, the majority of courses are locked. With the exception of introductory courses, a granted petition is needed to register for locked classes and can only be given through an advising session.

Step 1: Review Current Course Offerings

On the advising form, you will indicate the course(s) in which you would like to enroll.

Step 2: Print Program Evaluation

Your Program Evaluation can be accessed though Student Online Services. Sign in and select "Program Evaluation" under "Academic Profile." Then select your degree plan on which you will be advised. After it loads, print at least one copy to attach and submit with your Current Student Advising Form (see Step 3).

Step 3: Complete Current Student Advising Form

Complete the Current Student Advising Form. This form is to be used ONLY by students who have had previous face-to-face advising at least once. You must attach a copy of your Program Evaluation (see Step 2) when you submit this form.

There are 4 ways you can turn in the Current Student Advising form:

  1. The office located at the Eastview Campus, Rooms #3208 and 3210  (M-F 8am-5pm)
  2. Michelle Fitzpatrick’s mailbox at the Eastview Campus mail room  (M-Sun 7am-10pm)
  3. Scan the Current Student Advising Form and Program Evaluation, then email both documents to department assistant at
  4. Face to face with a department advisor
    Advising appointments are available through the below google calendar links. Select an Instructor of your choice, then sign in using a google email (either your ACC email or personal gmail account). Then select the next available appointment, be sure to note the arrows for future weeks.
