Event Information

ACC Hospitality and Culinary Arts Departments' Event Calendar

What kind of events are we involved in?

Depending on the needs of the event, we specialize in all aspects of event planning, including set up/break down, full-service, catering, and full production. We work with a vast array of organizations, from luncheons to wedding receptions. Check out some of the most recent events we have worked on.

Why should I get involved with events?

Working events is an excellent way to gain experience as you continue studying all aspects of the industry. The event industry can be a chaotic one, and prospective employers not only want to see that you comprehend the material, but that you have demonstrated how you can handle working in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

While gaining experience is a highly valuable asset before you even graduate, perhaps even moreso is the chance to network. As you will learn, networking is perhaps the most crucial tool you can utilize to finding job opportunities. You have probably heard the phrase, "It's not what you know, it's who you know". Establishing a personal connection can expedite your job search in addition to submitting applications and resumes online, because the prospective employer can put a face to your name.

Lastly, do not let compensation be a determining factor when trying to decide if you should assist with an event. Volunteering is a pro-active approach in your career search, and chances are, the more you become involved, the more opportunities you will discover.
