It takes a number of technologies each doing their part to provide every guest with a memorable experience whether their travel is personal or business, domestic or international, involve planning an event or attending a function. Within our programs we are preparing our students for the workforce and stay up to date with what the industry is using by bringing as many of those tools into the classroom as possible and provide hands on learning opportunities. Below are examples of what our students are learning within our programs.

iPads

iPadSince the introduction of the iPad in March 2010, the hospitality industry has been a driver in finding innovative, creative and consumer centric methods in which to adopt and utilize the many features the tablet has to offer. We are using iPads in the classroom for hands-on learning on apps that all facets of our industry is using on a day to day basis. Apps being used in the classroom include though are not limited to the following:

General: Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Glossy, Yelp, Belly, Foodspotting

Event Management: Superplanner, Mybanquet, Myguestlist, Guidebook, Groupio, Evernote, CardMunch, Bizzabo

Hospitality: Hotel ServicePro, Hospitality iCoach, iris GuestValet, TripAdvisor

Micros OPERA

Micros OPERAMicros OPERA is a premier property management software, the OPERA Property Management System (PMS). Designed to meet the varied requirements of any size hotel or hotel chain, OPERA PMS provides all the tools a hotel staff needs for doing their day-to-day jobs – handling reservations, checking guests in and out, assigning rooms and managing room inventory, accommodating the needs of in-house guests, and handling accounting and billing.
Our students complete the training modules of this commonly used PMS software.

Sabre Software

Sabre is a Global Distribution System used around the world to handle the volume of reservations by travel agents, car rental companies, hotels, airlines, rail provides and cruise lines. Our students have access to this system and in our Travel Automation II course learn the ins and outs of this must know technology that is used in our tourism industry.

Hotel ServicePro

It is a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) which automates the communicating, scheduling, tracking and reporting of safety requirements, preventive maintenance, guest requests, equipment management, capital expenditure and property improvement. This software is utilized within our Guestroom Management course as it is a tool that maintains communication between the housekeeping, maintenance and front office departments.

Hotel Sales and CateringPro

The hotel industry’s most technically advanced sales software; hotel SalesPro automates the entire sales administration process in less time and at significantly less cost than any competing product. It is in use at more than 3,000 full service hotels, limited service hotels, resorts, convention centers, private clubs and golf clubs.
Hotel CateringPro is a fully-functional catering software system which helps businesses maximize productivity and cut administrative inefficiencies by 75%. The system also greatly improves the internal and external communications of the entire catering organization.

This software is used within several courses offered within our programs. Courses include though are not limited to Computers in Hospitality, Hospitality Sales and Marketing, Introduction to Meetings & Conventions, and Applied Meetings.
