The Austin Community College District seeks candidates to expand its pool of adjunct faculty in support of the college’s fast growing program areas. Applicants submitting applications for adjunct positions are applying to be a part of ACC’s Adjunct Faculty Pool of instructors.
Departments may have multiple teaching opportunities for each adjunct position advertised on the ACC website. As current Adjunct Faculty are assigned courses to teach, the number of teaching opportunities advertised for potential new Adjuncts are subject to change. Therefore, departments are better able to communicate their most recent teaching needs at the time of interviews.
Applications and transcripts are evaluated prior to the selection of interviewees. Interview outcomes are evaluated to determine if a candidate will be approved for ACC’s Adjunct Faculty Pool. All decisions are made upon the discretion of the department. Applicants who meet the minimum requirements are not automatically accepted to teach at ACC.
The Adjunct Faculty Pool is managed through ACC’s automated system, e-Staffing. New and current instructors utilize the e-Staffing system to communicate their ongoing teaching needs and availability. Day and evening courses are often immediately available for new instructors to teach. However, whenever courses are not immediately available, new instructors may be assigned to teach classes in a future fall, spring, and/or summer session.
Candidates selected for interviews will be contacted by telephone and e-mail. Candidates who are not selected to interview and/or not selected for the Adjunct Faculty Pool will be notified by e-mail only. E-mail notifications are sent to the e-mail accounts each applicant initially registered in ACC’s online e-Hire applicant tracking system.
