Employee Photo Identification Cards
spacer

To enhance the level of safety and security on all campuses ACC has implemented a new employee identification system. Employee Photo Identification Cards will be administered to all Staffing Table employees. Each Photo Identification Card will have a photo of the employee on the front. The back of the ID will have an electronic strip with information containing the staff ID #, library barcode data, and card issue number. This information is included in preparation for future uses of the card.

Obtaining an ACC Employee Photo ID Card

ACC employees may obtain Employee Photo ID Cards at the Highland Business Center in the Office of Employment and Outreach Services, 6th floor, room 607 according to the following schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

To obtain an ACC Photo ID Card, employees must present a government/state distributed picture Identification card, for example, a drivers license. Employees must also provide a Datatel account number or the last four digits of their Social Security Number.

New Employees

New employees may obtain Photo ID Cards three business days after initial hire from the Office of Employment and Outreach Services, HBC, 6th floor, room 607. New employees will also have the opportunity to obtain their Photo ID Cards on the last Monday of the month during New Employee Orientation - Part II.

Hourly Employees

Employee Photo Identification Cards will not be provided to Hourly (temporary) employees. Hourly employees must obtain a memo from their supervisor when they have a need to utilize services on campus that are in secured areas or require identification. Hourly employees are to present their memo which verifies their employment status to the representatives of the secured areas at the campus location where they are seeking services.

Supervisors of Hourly employees must create a memo for their Hourly employee that includes the following information:

  • Supervisor’s name and telephone number
  • Campus Location (actual work site) of Supervisor
  • Building and/or Room number of Supervisor
  • Beginning and end dates of employment (Period of time in which the employee may have access to secured areas/obtain services on campus that require identification.)

Employees Enrolled As Students

Employees who are simultaneously enrolled as students will be issued two separate ID cards.
The Office of Employment and Outreach Services will issue Employee ID’s and the Admissions and Records Office located at ACC campuses will issue Student ID cards.

Departing Employees

Employees must submit the ID card to the supervisor upon termination of employment. Lost or stolen cards must be reported to the Office of Employment and Outreach Services in Human Resources.

Replacement Cards

If an ID card is lost or stolen, a replacement card can be secured from the Office of Employment and Outreach Services. As of FY08, a $10 replacement fee will apply and can be paid at any ACC Cashier's Office. Employees may then present a receipt to an HR representative employed in the Employment Office to obtain a replacement ID.

Utilization of ID’s

Staffing Table employees may utilize their ID’s to obtain services at various campus-secured areas, i.e., Libraries, Testing Centers, etc. Campus Police are asked to identify employees and students with photo ID’s to better distinguish students and employees from guests visiting the College. This can be particularly helpful when employees work outside of regular campus/office hours and on weekends.
