Background: This project fulfilled the requirement of facilitating a session. Dr. Mary Hensley, EVP of College Operations and School Relations, was topic presenter. Topic: 35 Years of Austin Community College.
Approach: Researched, analyzed, and organized data found in primary and secondary sources; sifted through ACC publications, letters, memos, videos, and archives of local newspapers.
Results: The Powerpoint presentation created included the founding and on-going development of ACC and historical milestones of every decade in the U.S. and in Texas.
Conclusion: Having a vision, maintaining external relations, legislative and local financial backing, and foremost, serving student needs are fundamental to ACC.
