Faculty Support

Campus Police

Provide the following:

  • security for faculty, staff, students and campus property
  • emergencey services and assists in emergency evacuation
  • enforces college policies and regulations and city and state laws
  • distribute parking permits
  • maintains/distributes keys for all classrooms and facilities
  • provides other campus services such as opening locked vehicles, unlocking building doors and traffic control

College and Career Preparatory Program

A unique partnership between the Austin Independent School District (AISD) and ACC to advance college and career opportunities for high school students.

Manages the operation and administartion of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs delivered by Austin ISD to AISD students.

Support & assistance provided for: Curriculum Implementation, Professional Development, College & Career Activities, Data Acquisition, CTE Program Development, Instructional Support, Tech Prep and College Connection, and Early Start Initiatives

College Connection

College Connection

The College Connection partnership opens doors to the variety of options that exist beyond high school.

ACC provides hands-on, one-on-one support to assist every student through each step of the college admissions process.

During the May graduation ceremonies, each graduating senior will receive their acceptance letter to ACC.

Early College Start

The Early College Start program allows high school juniors and seniors residing in the ACC Community College District service area to take up to two ACC courses per semester.

Students can earn college credit by taking ACC classes at their high schools, at any ACC campus, or other ACC location.

Distance Learning courses also are available. In addition to college credit, students may earn credit toward their high school graduation requirements by completing dual credit courses.

Financial need may exempt students from this fee. For students who reside within ACC’s taxing district, ACC classes are tuition and fee exempt.

Grant Development

Serve as a resource regarding the grants development process

Identify appropriate funding sources

Secure external funds that help ensure that the College mission is met

Foster relationships with other departments in the College

Facilite a better understanding of the grant application process

Support faculty, staff and administrators through the funding process

House Bill 1

Requires selected higher ed institutions to:

  • Review and revise one or more courses from no more than 25 entry-level, lover-division academic courses
  • Optimize the use of information technology in the redesign of courses
  • Evaluate the cost savings and increase student success resulting from the review and revision of courses

P-16 Initiatives
P-16

“P-16” is a term used to describe the goal of creating a seamless educational system of public education. It refers to the spectrum of Pre-School through college completion.

P-16 initiatives are designed to respond to the challenges of Texas' Closing the Gaps initiative.

The goals of P-16 initiatives are to maximize student success by: reducing drop out rates, reducing the number of high school graduates needing remedial education, increasing participation in higher education, increasing the numbers completing college degrees and certificates, ensuring a qualified workforce necessary to support economic development.

Tech Prep

Students begin courses of study in high school and continue in a community or technical college.

Combine academic and technical courses needed for success in college AND that begin to prepare students for a career.

Students in Tech Prep programs can earn college credit through:

  • Content-enhanced articulated courses
  • Dual Credit Courses
  • College Board Advanced Placement (AP)
