ACC has given me the confidence to start my life again. After working for 19 years in the mortgage industry I suddenly found myself laid-off along with thousands of others in my profession. Without a college degree I found it impossible to gain employment with another firm. I deiced at that point that I had to go back to school. I took my first class at ACC in 1986 and though I hadn’t set foot in a class room in over 20 years I made the decision to enroll at ACC. That was in August of 2007 and yesterday I graduated with an Associates of Arts as a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Though I am enrolled at UT, I will still continue to take classes at ACC because ACC feels like home to me.
