I successfully managed restaurants and private country clubs for 15 years, and during that time, I was never completely happy. Because I barely graduated high school, and a year late at that, I always felt there were no other better choices. I was stuck where I was at due to no real education. One day while in N.C. I met a great friend who opened my eyes to the realistic opportunity of getting an education and changing my future. Through my adult years I realized that there was nothing I could not achieve if I truly set my mind to it, but I sold myself short in the beginning which caused me to just continually run in circles. Then the day came when my mother, who has been fighting breast cancer for the last 31 years, made me realize that anything is possible and it just depends on how much you really want it. Therefore, from N.C., I called ACC and spoke with a counselor who actually walked me through making my dream an actuality. I am now a 4.0 GPA Phi Theta Kappa Honor student at ACC working towards my dream of achieving a Doctorate in Pharmacy and a PhD. specializing in cancer medication research.
