About two years ago, I decided to go to nursing school. "No problem," I thought. "I can knock out these pre-requisite courses in a couple of semesters." How naive I was! I am 29 years old and not as academically spry as I was as a first-time college student 11 years ago. Sciences do not come easily to me, so I was nervous about taking such a heavy load of biology. Pre-requisites for nursing school meant that I had to actively re-learn chemistry, I would be overwhelmed by microbiology, and I would be awed by physiology. Two years and six semesters later, I am heading to nursing school at the end of the month. My experience with ACC has been wonderful. My professors have been unbelievable – very encouraging, supportive, and understanding. Even though sciences are not my strong suit, the professors I have had have gently pushed me academically to really learn these difficult concepts. I am unspeakably grateful for the high quality education I have received at ACC. It may have taken me slightly longer than I thought it would, but I have learned more about the human body in two years at ACC than I ever thought possible. I am proud that to have been a student at ACC.
