I was living here in Austin, working, just trying to do whatever I could to get by. I didn’t have an education, no GED, nothing like that. I’m coming out of 15 years of trying to find a job. ACC not only let me enroll in school, they brought me up to college level. What changed for me after enrolling in ACC was that I lost the feeling of impending doom about my future. I gained hope. I’m 37 years old, and I walk down the street and say “I am a college student.” It’s wonderful, it’s empowering, it’s inspiring, and it puts a smile on my face!
