Program Site: This program takes place in Beijing, Xian and Shanghai.
Duration: Spring Break 2010: March 11-22
Deadline to Apply: November 20, 2009
Description: Students will travel to China on a structured tour, which will include periodic classes, lectures, museum tours, and various cultural visits. Students will be responsible for keeping a journal and writing a reflection paper at the end of the study abroad class. There will be four classes prior to traveling to China, to include lectures on Chinese culture, government, history and language with a special emphasis in all four classes on the economy of Modern China and its relationship to the US economy.
Course and Credit: Business Studies/BUSG 1191. 1 ACC Credit.
Accommodations: Participants will stay in 4-star hotels throughout the tour! Participants will share a room with another ACC student.
Eligibility: Open to any ACC student.
Program Fee: $3000. Includes roundtrip group flight from Austin to China, accommodations, meals, buses, entrance fees, tour guides, lecture fees, soft-sleeping train form Beijing to Xian and economy class flight from Xian to Shanghai.
Does not include ACC tuition, books/materials needed for the Business course and any personal expenses.
Scholarships: Funding is available through the Campus Activity Board and the Board of Trustees Study Abroad Scholarship program.
