Deadline to apply: February 17; however, applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Program Site: This program will be based in London, England, where you will go beyond the typical classroom/computer desk experience. Locations of activities and events change on a daily basis. See program itinerary for details.
Duration: First summer session. New dates:
June 1-June 12 & July 2-July 7: online course work based in Austin.
June 13 - July 1: course-related activities and events in London.
Description: This Drama in London Study Abroad Program offers students the opportunity to explore London both from a historical and theatrical perspective. The objective is to bridge the old with the new, exposing students to a variety of artistic and cultural traditions that thrive in London theatre.
Course and Credit: Introduction to Theatre / DRAMA 1310. 3 ACC Credits.
This course can also be taken as a Continuing Education class.
Accommodations: Private rooms in Ramsay Hall, a student dormitory operated by University College London campus and located in the heart of central London.
Activities and Other Program Features: Big Bus London Tour; classical and comtemporary plays in a variety of theatre settings; tours of important theatre sites such as the Globe, the National Theatre, and the Courtyard Theatre, home of the Royal Shakespeare Company; Shakespeare’s London Walking Tour; weekend excursion to Stratford
Eligibility: Participants must be enrolled at ACC or apply to ACC before the start of the program.
Acceptance policy: First-come, first-serve.
Program Fee: $1990. Includes accommodations, breakfasts, airport transfers, local transportation, site entrance fees and theatre tickets for selected performances
Not included: tuition, airfare, books, lunches and dinners, and personal expenses
Scholarships: Funding is available through the Campus Activity Board and the Board of Trustees Study Abroad Scholarship program.
