Hong Kong – Supply Chain Management

ALL STUDENTS INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING IN EITHER OF THESE PROGRAMS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND- WE WILL HAVE APPLICATIONS AND SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONs AVAILABLE AT THIS INFO SESSION. THIS IS A GOOD MEETING FOR ANYONE WHO IS SERIOUS ABOUT ATTENDING EITHER OF THESE PROGRAMS AND HAVE YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED.

Program Site: HongKong and Southern China (Guangxhou)

Duration: 10 days January 3-12, 2010.

Description: Visit factories that manufacture products for export to the United States. Follow the process from order management, fulfillment and manufacturing to the dock. See how products make it to port of embarkation and discuss the merits of different processes.

Course and Credit: IBUS 1341 Avanced Global Supply Chain Management

Prerequisite: None

Accommodations: Double occupancy hotel stays

Activities and Other Program Features: Visit the Kong Kong Museum of History, Tour the Port of Hong Kong, Tour Chep Lap Kok Airport, Supply Chain lecture at the University of HongKong, Visit Yantian Port, Tour the Futian distribution facility.

Acceptance Policy: Must meet with Professor Shawn Levsen. Application and scholarship deadline for this program is November 20, 2009. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Program Fee: The estimated total of $2850 includes air transport, double-occupancy lodging, local transportation, tours, visa and some meals. A valid passport, tuition fees for one credit hour, incidentals and some meals are the responsibility of the participant.

Not included in program fee: ACC Tuition, some meals, passport.

Scholarships: Funding is available through the Campus Activity Board and the Board of Trustees Study Abroad Scholarship program.
