Japanese II in Kasukabe, Japan

Take Japanese II in the beautiful country of Japan. Not only will you earn 5 hours of ACC credit, you will meet Japanese students with whom you can practice your conversational skills! Plus, learn the art of tea ceremonies, calligraphy, flower arranging, and more. Hosted by Kyoei University, 20 miles north of Tokyo!

JAPN 1511 (Japanese I) completed by the end of the spring 2009 semester
or equivalent to JAPN 1511(contact Catherine Angell of the Foreign Languages Dept for more info)

Scholarships
Apply for one of fifty available ACC Board of Trustees Study Abroad Scholarships as well as CAB funding!! Click on the "Program Costs, Financial Aid, and Scholarships" tab.
Host Institution
Kyoei University. Classes will be held in the host institution; however, classes will be taught by ACC faculty member Emi Schuster.
Flight
Estimated cost for airfare is $1300. Student may opt for arranging own airfare or arranging a seat on a group flight through ACCInternational Programs staff assistance. Students will be responsible for arriving in the Narita Airport by a specific day and time.
Room & Board

Field Trips
Students will go on a weekend excursion to Nikko, accompanied by course instructor, onsite coordinator, and several local students. The excursion includes
round trip rail transport between Kittakasukabe and Nikko; one night at a Japanese style inn, including breakfast and evening meal; 2 day bus pass for the Nikko/Chuzenji area and entrance to Toshogu shrine.
Students will travel to Tokyo for a day tour accompanied by course instructor. The tour includes transportation and free local student tour guides.
