FULBRIGHT SCHOLAR PROGRAM
The core
Fulbright Scholar Program sends 800 U.S. faculty and
professionals abroad each year. Grantees lecture and conduct research in
a wide variety of academic and professional fields.
The Fulbright Program is sponsored by the United
States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural
Affairs. Under a cooperative agreement with the Bureau, the Council
for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES) assists in the
administration of the Fulbright Scholar Program for faculty and
professionals.
AMERICAN COUNCILS FOR INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION
Is currently accepting applications for the 2012 Intensive Summer Language Institutes Program taking place in Alexandria, Egypt and Changchun, China. The application deadline is March 2, 2012. This program provides fully funded fellowships for U.S. faculty to spend six weeks overseas studying intermediate and advanced-level Arabic and Chinese.
The Intensive Summer Language Institutes are funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State and implemented by American Councils for International Education. The ISLI program is open to current K-12 teachers and community college instructors of Arabic and Mandarin Chinese, as well as to students enrolled in education programs who intend to teach these langauges.
